The Trango Towers Base Camp Trek is a premier high-altitude expedition in the Karakoram Range of northern Pakistan, renowned for its dramatic granite spires and challenging terrain. Trango Towers, with their vertical granite faces, are among the tallest rock spires in the world, and standing at their base is a humbling experience.
Your journey begins in Islamabad, where you’ll have a chance to acclimatize and prepare before flying to Skardu, the gateway to the Baltoro Glacier. From there, you’ll trek through several beautiful valleys, crossing the Baltoro Glacier and setting up camp at Trango Base Camp (4,900m), surrounded by dramatic peaks like Great Trango Tower and Nameless Tower.
For climbers and adventurers, optional guided climbs are available to summit various peaks along the way, offering a chance to push your limits while under the guidance of expert mountaineers. Whether you’re here to trek or climb, the experience is as much about the journey as it is about the destination. The trek also gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the local culture, experiencing the hospitality of the Baltistan region.

Day 1–2: Arrival in Islamabad
- Arrival in Islamabad: Transfer to hotel.
- Trek briefing session and preparation for the trek.
- Overnight stay in Islamabad to rest and prepare.
Day 3: Islamabad to Skardu
- Flight to Skardu: Fly from Islamabad to Skardu, subject to weather conditions.
- Explore Skardu: Visit local sights and rest at the hotel in Skardu.
Day 4: Skardu to Askole
- Drive to Askole (6–7 hours): The last motorable point.
- Overnight camping in Askole.
Day 5: Askole to Jhola
- Trek to Jhola (3,500m): 6–7 hours trek through rugged terrain.
- Overnight camp at Jhola.
Day 6: Jhola to Paiyu
- Trek to Paiyu (3,660m): 6–7 hours trek through picturesque landscapes.
- Rest day to acclimatize and explore Paiyu.
Day 7: Paiyu to Trango Base Camp
- Trek to Trango Base Camp (4,900m): 8–9 hours trek over glaciers and rocky terrain.
- Camp setup with panoramic views of Trango Towers.
Day 8–32: Climbing and Acclimatization Days
- Climbing and Acclimatization: Spend 25 days for acclimatization, optional rock climbing, and exploration.
- Rest days are included for necessary recovery and to adjust to high altitude.
- Optional guided climbs of Trango Towers (6,286m) and Nameless Tower (6,239m) are available for experienced climbers.
Day 33–35: Return Trek
- Return to Paiyu: 6–7 hours trek back to Paiyu.
- Continue trekking back to Jhola and Askole.
Day 36: Skardu to Islamabad
- Flight back to Islamabad: Final transfer to Islamabad for debriefing.
- Farewell dinner and rest before departure.
