Tour overview
A scenic winter trail that links Raikot Bridge to the gateway village of Tato, this trek is the first leg of the journey to Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat — beautiful even as a standalone winter hike.
🏞️ A Trail Along the Indus
The Raikot–Tato trail winds along a dramatic ridge overlooking the Indus River, through narrow pine forest paths and across frozen water channels. While it is typically used by trekkers on their way to Fairy Meadows, the hike itself is a worthy winter adventure, perfect for travelers looking for a quieter, off-grid trail experience.
❄️ Winter Vibes & Village Life
In winter, the trail becomes snow-laden and eerily peaceful. You’ll pass small homes, silent farms, and ice-cloaked rockfaces before arriving in Tato — a humble village that offers traditional meals and basic lodging in winter.
🧍♂️ For Who?
Ideal for fit beginner trekkers, couples, or solo adventurers seeking a one-day or overnight hike in Gilgit-Baltistan without committing to higher altitudes.
