Expedition Overview

Broad Peak (8,051 meters), the 12th highest mountain on Earth, stands proudly in the heart of the Karakoram Range, on the border of Pakistan and China. Named for its vast summit ridge that extends over 1.5 kilometers, Broad Peak is one of the most iconic 8,000-meter peaks in the world and a prized goal for seasoned mountaineers.

This expedition takes you through one of the most breathtaking trekking routes in the world, traversing the stunning Baltoro Glacier, and passing legendary peaks like Masherbrum, Trango Towers, and Gasherbrum IV, before arriving at the majestic Concordia, the junction of some of the world’s greatest glaciers and the gateway to several 8,000m summits.

Day 2: Fly or drive to Skardu

Weather permitting, take a spectacular flight over Nanga Parbat to Skardu. If no flight, drive via Karakoram Highway (2 days).

Day 3: Rest and preparation day in Skardu

Gear check, team briefing, and final logistical arrangements.

Day 4: Drive to Askole (3,050m)

Travel by 4x4 jeeps through the Braldu Valley to Askole – the last inhabited village.

Day 5: Trek to Jhola (3,200m)

Begin the trek along the Braldu River, camping near Jhola.

Day 6: Trek to Paiju (3,450m)

Pass through narrow trails with views of Bakhor Das and Paiju Peak.

Day 7: Rest day at Paiju

Acclimatization and preparation for glacier travel.

Day 8: Trek to Khoburtse (3,930m)

Trek on Baltoro Glacier; pass Trango Towers and Cathedral Group.

Day 9: Trek to Urdukas (4,050m)

Short but steep day offering some of the best Karakoram views.

Day 10: Trek to Goro II (4,250m)

Glacier terrain continues with panoramic views of Masherbrum.

Day 11: Trek to Concordia (4,600m)

Reach the legendary Concordia, surrounded by four 8,000m peaks.

Day 12: Trek to Broad Peak Base Camp (5,000m)

Short trek up the Godwin-Austen Glacier to Broad Peak Base Camp.

Day 13–38: Climbing Period – Broad Peak (8,051m)

- Establish Advanced Base Camp, Camp I, II, and III

- Multiple rotations for acclimatization

- Weather window monitoring

- Final summit push and descent

Day 39: Cleanup and pack up Base Camp

Dismantling of Base Camp and preparation to trek back.

Day 40: Trek to Concordia

Retrace steps to Concordia.

Day 41: Trek to Goro II

Descent via same route.

Day 42: Trek to Urdukas

Enjoy the changing mountain light as you descend.

Day 43: Trek to Paiju

Final full trekking day before jeep access.

Day 44: Drive to Skardu

Return to Skardu for celebration dinner.

Day 45: Fly or drive to Islamabad

Flight to Islamabad or return by road.
